16 years old and stressing about insurance!!!
Alright so when I first got pregnant I knew I needed insurance so I asked my mom to help but she's always busier with other things so like 2 months later my older sister filled out an app for me online for healthwave a few weeks after that I went to doc apt with baby's dad and he had to pay almost 200 dollars cuz the insurance was accepted yet.. they gave me a number to call to get accepted fast so today I called ( 2 months after my sister filed online) and she said there wasn't even an application from me on file and since I'm 16 my mom has to file for me.. my next appt is in 2 weeks I'll be 20 weeks and get to fond out gender and have to see if my placenta moved up cause I have placenta previa.. idk what to do help?? What should I do I appreciate any suggestions
im also sixteen and totally went through this talk to your doctor because there are programs where you can get free indurance for your child because your so young or insurance for like eight dollars but i you talk to your doc it really helps
I'm from KS too and healthwave is the title of our Medicare. When you apply, make sure that there is a note showing that you are pregnant. That sends it as high priority and you should hear back within ten days. This will cover retroactively for three months. Hope this info helps. Just do it online but you can call with any questions at 1-800-792-4884.
Go to local DHS office they will help get you covered we did this for our 16 yr old daughter even tho she covered under our insurance medicad picks up what our insurance doesn't also they will help with WIC so you'll get some foods to help you eat properly will your pregnant good luck doll!

Yea yhu shld try pregnancy medicaid & ne bills you have n the last 3 months they will pay for it
Apply for medicaid. Most states once you become pregnant you are an "adult" and of legal age to make decisions as an adult would.when i applied online for medicaid i was told online immediately afterwards i was approved and given my number and my insurance took effect immediately

Never heard of insurance not covering just cuz your "underage". The Medicare/medical assistance is retroactive so it should go back and cover some previous things. I would stay on top of that.
In Iowa, if you're accepted for Medicaid they will go back 3 months from when you are accepted and cover the medical bills.
here in florida i applyied for medicaid and in less than a month i had it , nd i dnt need my mom for anything , they treat me as an adult since im preg.. you should try medicaid
