Thanks everybody. My doc did say the placenta is in front. I am 5'8" and pretty thin (130lbs before pregnancy). Hopefully I'll feel him/her soon!
I am currently at 24 weeks tomorrow and I would say I have really only felt the baby for the past couple weeks, to which I can actually say, Yep thats the baby. Also, I can only feel him when I am in a sitting or lying down position, I do not feel him if I am standing up yet. You'll feel your baby soon and it will be amazing!
Its normal not to really feel anything until about 20-24 weeks with your first pregnancy. Also, it depends on how the baby is positioned and your body type as well. Skinnier people tend to feel it sooner where as people with a little more meat feel it a little later. Also, if the placenta is blocking or you have an anterior placenta then it can cause you to not really feel any strong movement at all. Odds are you've probably already felt your little one move but because this is your first pregnancy you haven't even realized. In a couple of weeks though you should start feeling baby move more since its movements will be stronger and you wont be able to mistake it for anything else. Congrats on your pregnancy!
I'm about 21 weeks and still have not really felt my baby move either. Don't worry...you could have an anterior placenta like me and it's cushioning the movement. Many women will still not feel anything up to week 25.
I am currently 31/32 weeks and I didn't feel my baby move until around week 20. This is my first baby as well. Baby probably is moving like crazy in there, but at this stage it's very hard to tell the difference between gas and your baby moving you won't feel actual kicks yet the baby doesn't weigh a lot yet so movements don't have much of an impact. If there are times where you think maybe you did feel baby... it probably is.
