To all moms of many - kind of OT

So, when my twins arrive I will have three children under the age of three. They will be born in winter so I am not going to do much running around with all three unless I have help. My question is about the purchase of a stoller. I have found one that has two seats which I believe can accomodate car seats and then at the back is a place for my slightly older child to either sit or stand. There are straps for the third child for mild security. The issue is cost, around $300.00 and whether or not of you moms who have been there think it would be a good investment. When the summer rolls around I will definatley be trying to get out and about my town for walks and to the park and my mom mentioned that maybe my oldest would be riding a tricycle or not neccessarily want to ride in the stroller as I know some kids are perfectly content to sit there all day and others aren't. The other option I thought of would be to get a two seater stroller ( immensely cheaper) and while the twins are small enough bring a carrier to wear in case my oldest wants to ride I could carry one of the twins - the only problem with that is eventually that will not work anymore. My sister has two children ages 5 & 1 and she has one of the strollers that has one seat and a place for the older one to sit or stand and she said that her oldest still prefers to ride instead of walk at times and that everytime she goes somewhere she gets a few inquires as to where she got it and seemed to think I should just "go big". Just wondering what anyone elses thoughts were on the subject. FYI thankgoodness I have an SUV because it says right in the description of the stroller that it will not fit in the trunk of a car (yikes) which is another issue but only minor!

Thanks for your advice, the more I think about it I agree with everyone. I would hate to not get it and purchase a different stroller and then end up getting it later anyways!! Thanks again and yes I am definately going to look into one of those leash backpacks - he is getting  a lot better about staying with me but I could still chase him if he didn't and this summer it will definately be easier to keep him within a certain area while out for walks - thank goodness for sidewalks although he doesn't always think he should stay on the sidewalks and some are pretty close to the road!

Younger kids always want to ride, and if his siblings are riding, he will want to as well.  They often get tired and like to be able to sit and ride for a while.  Go for the $300 option!!

i would go the $300 option - although expensive i think it would be definatly worth the investment as longer walks can be tiring and slow for little ones and they do still want to have a ride.  I also think that using a baby carrier all the time and having one strapped to you chest can get quite heavy (even when they are small) and hot in summer when out walking etc.  I think it would also be nice to have your self free if both babies are sleeping in the pram and you need to change the older ones nappy, lift him/her up for somthing, put them on the slide at the park ect or just look at somthing at the shops.  I know i just found when my little one was in the pouch it was kind of restrictive.  I am about to have my second so will not have as many as you but have just bought a 3 wheeler with the toddler seat on the front.  It clips in really easily where the front bar would go on a normal pram and fits under the pram in the basket when not in use.  I also have one of the animalback packs with the leash that my olderst loves to wear so i figure i can use any option depending on what my oldest wants to do and how long we are going out for.

i have no children but my mother actually had me and my sister which we are twins and a year and 4 months later had my brother but she had the two seater. she was a single mother soo she had to do it all plus no car so we walked every where she put me and my sis in the stroller then put my brother in a carrier on her body. and when he grew out of the carrier me and my sis would share the front, my brother in the back...I think the 300 dollar stroller would be the best way to go in my opinion even tho its kinda expensive. that way there is room for all 3 of the kids when the oldest wants to walk he can have that option too or when he wants to ride then he can ride. im sure you have one of those leash back packs for him kids love them well most do anyways
