Oh...sheeew...i was gonna say...it was an awful experience for me!! It was worse than child birth...and i went completely natural...no pain meds...lol
The belly button is a dead nerve so it doesnt hurt them. I was very concered with this too because my daughters got caught on her onzie and tore off (no bleeding) the dr said it didnt hurt her at all and when she did the nitrate she didnt even wimper and my girl was a cryer so I know it didnt hurt her.
Holy cow...that stuff is so painful...after i had my daughter i was so badly torn that even after two weeks i still had unhealed open wounds down below...i had to get some spots silver nitrated...and HOLY COW!! i cant imagine putting that on a baby...its a chemical burn. Poor baby!!
Well her doctor said don't do anything to it. All I have done so far is not cover it, letting air in. Hopefully that helps. But is it painful to her because she cries a lot now.
My second had the same issue. When you dont get under the whole cord when cleaning it cant dry out and fall off evenly. Use a qtip and rubbing alcohol.
