2 wk old poop question

My son will b 2 weeks old thursday, i started out breastfeeding him but friday i had to switch so i formula feed him about 75% of the time and breastfeed him 25%( i had to switch bc he was eating so often he made me so sore i cried friday bc i didnt wanna feed him)he has poop in every diaper and has since last tuesday, is it ok? Any moms experience this? Also his butt is all red, i put destinin on it but any other suggestions?

Also, they sell these nipple gel pads in the same isle. You put them in the fridge and they help ease pain as well. Lol ok im done, just thought those might help you out too with soreness. Hope they help!

Yeah sounds pretty normal for being 2 weeks old. You can get those nipple shields at walmart btw! They helped me a lot too.

As far as the boobie pain goes, have you tried using a silicone nipple shield? I've been using them since day one because my natural nipples are too flat for baby to latch. The adde perk is that they really cut down on the pain and irritation. I ordered them off of the Medela site.

As far as poops in every diaper go, I'm not sure. My doctor says to expect 4 poo diapers a day, give or take. I'd say as long as he's still gaining weight you're not in any danger.
For the redness, it could be chapping from the diaper... maybe try letting his bum air out for a few minutes during diaper changes? (If you dare leave a loaded weapon uncovered, ha-ha)

I do know that change in his stool is normal due to you changing up his milk feedings. Formula will toss up his digestive system for a few days but if its super watery, maybe consult his pediatrician about a different formula as it may be upsetting his tummy.

Is it diarrhea? Try aquaphor for the rash and let his bottom air out as often as possible.
