I wasnt given any painkillers after the extraction but i was given a local before and i think it dulled out the pain severally. It hasnt effected bub either he is actually more active, the pain is really nothing compaired to what it was and the risk the tooth could have caused like kenzie said icepacks work wonders!

I never had one pulled but I had a root canal done...and holy cow! I was on a lot of pain afterwards and they said I could take extra strength tylenol...which didn't do anything...they normally perscribe vicodin for that.  I just used ice packs on my jaw and tried to not think about the pain.
