28week's & bad anemia

Hello, I am 28weeks pregnant and got told I have bad anemia 3 days ago. I can't move out of bed without fainting. I have been put onto ferrous sulphate tablets 200mg twice a day. I am so desprate to feel a little bit better, as I am becoming really low & depressed with feeling this poorly or the time. Has anyone else been on these tablets? Anyone know what I can do to help? How long do they take to kick in? I've been told I may need a blood transfusion if I feel no better in 3weeks. Thank you!

I was told to take mine with fruit juice and to start eating foods with iron in them.

Yes. The iron pills make your stool tarry and black.

I was told I was a little hematocrit 4 weeks ago, and I couldn't even move around without having to sit or lay down again for a bit, I've been taking my prenatal vitamins daily and that actually helps, I think you just need to increase more iron in your diet so keep taking prenatal vitamins daily, eat leafy greens, eat food with iron in them, it will help a lot, I was close to have to get magnesium sulfate from the doctor but now I'm doing just fine.
