I'm thinking of trying natural for my first
If they mess up your epidural you could still end up feeling the pain or worse like my mom they punctured her spine she's had migraines ever since so I'm definitely trying natural I'd rather temporary pain versus lifetime
I did natural labor two times 6 pounds 9 ounces and 7 pounds 13 ounces. It's all mind over matter. My mom was supportive while I was in labor saying I didn't need mess or anything. It encouraged me, find someone that will encourage you threw it and it'll be a breeze, our bodies were made to give birth :) good luck, I'm planning my third drug free birth now!
Thanks everyone for your input! I would love to mentally get over the thought of the pain but I'm not sure I can.
I got it though too because I couldn't handle the contractions anymore! I got mine 15 min before I started pushing.
I thought I could give birth naturally but I soon changed my mind on the epidural lol I didn't want the epidural at first because I was scared of needles though. I don't think that it's harmful to the baby though. Talk to your doctor or look it up to see if they are harmful at all. If they were I don't think the hospital would give them to you at all though!
I had IV meds all they did was making me sleepy and loopy so I felt everything and was drugged up at the same time it was awful. I'll be going natural this time around I hated the feeling of not knowing what was going on. Its not selfish of you I would just say try to go without until you can't take it anymore. I wouldn't get one just because the pain starts I'd wait until it gets horrid.
I gave birth to my 8 month old boy natural. I didn't have a long labor. I had only 2 hours labor, but only 15 minutes strong one.
