3 weeks old

My daughter is three weeks old, she's 6lbs, I was feeding her 2 ounces, but she keeps crying until I give her another ounce, do you think 3 ounces every 3-4 hours is too much for a 3wk old 6lbs baby?  As soon as I give her the extra ounce she goes to sleep but I don't want to over feed her and make her sick

yeah, I feed her 2 ounces, sometimes 3, and I burp her between each ounce, she has a dr appointment in an hour so I need to ask the Dr if its ok to feed her 3 ounces per feeding, she has bad reflux and taking medicine twice a day so I need to monitor that she isnt eating way too much

are you burping her a couple times during the feed? sometimes a big burp can cause them to throw up.

If you only breastfeed once a day you have a higher chance of losing milk production all together.. Your bony makes as much milk as baby drinks breast feeding is how you keep milk production up.. So stay hydrated and breastfeed as much as you can..

Its definitely a hungry cry because she'll keep searching for my breast, I only breast feed once a day so I won't dry up fast, anyway, I fed her the extra ounce a little while ago and she vomited everything I had initially fed her :( she always does that and it *****, even after burping her she vomited, so I'm stuck ob what I should do

i was told to feed on demand when my son was that young, and you really cant over feed them because they will stop drinking when they are full..its perfectly fine, its just your baby telling you shes still hungry so definetly give it to her ! however just remember babies can cry for many other reasons as well, but youll begin to learn her different cries and what they mean. good luck :)

I wouldn't worry about over feeding her, baby knows when she's hungry and when she's full.. Think about babies that are breastfed, you don't know how many ounces they eat they just go until they're satisfied..
