What you really need is body shampoo, baby outfit, some outfit for and your man, toothpaste, tooth brush and a washcloth. Trust me you will get diaper, milk and pad. You don't want to pack too much stuffs.
Did mine at 35 weeks with both my boys.. I packed to much with our first. Took 2 bags.. 2nd was less.. hospital provides most.. they provide: diapers, wipes, mega pads, ice packs(if you tear), pacifier, formula (if not breastfeeding or want to do both).. just ask your doctor if they can let you know what's provided.. I packed pjs for hobby and I.. my going home outfit.. husband really didn't change.. lol. He just took one outfit for our stay.. of course, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, brush, hair tie and so on.. all travel size for both of us.. for baby.. 2 outfits, nursing blanket, blanket, socks, mittens, car seat.. for snacks, hobby just went to the vending machine...
i packed mine at 35 weeks, for myself and my husband we each got an outfit, a pyjama and a sweater, i brought myself extra pad friendly underwear! then a bag with our deodorant, 2 new tooth brushes and toothpaste, some travel shampoo/conditioner/body wash, and LIP CHAP! i brought my own roll of TP because i hate the cheap hospital stuff, and heavy duty pads! Of course our wallets and insurance/hospital cards and SIN! Then for baby i brought two outfits, her blankly, a pacifier, a pack of diapers and a pack of wipes, and vaseline, her bunting suit and the car seat of course, scratch mits, hats and socks! And then a word cross book for myself, a charger for my husband to keep his phone alive for entertainment, and a box of bars and 2 bottles of drink for my husband during the delivery, you never know how long it'll last and my hubby doesn't run well on an empty belly! And of course a nursing pillow and bottle incase breastfeeding doesn't go as well as we hope! Hope this helped! :)
