I need some advice PLEASE!!!

Hello all I am wondering if I should keep on with the TTC fight. I have been trying for almost 5  years to get pregnant with no luck. I have been on clomid 100 mg and I am finally ovulating, but still no luck. My last OBGYN diagnosed me with PCOS in nov of last year and I have since switched my OB DR. and he told me the clomid wasn't working all of that time because my other DR. had me taking it on the wrong days. My new DR. wanted some blood tests and stuff so I found out that I now  have a very abnormally high cortizol level. Dr. thinks I might have cushing's disease and I also have a high thyroid level. I was suppose to try IUI this month, but my DR. wants me to stop TTC until we can work out all of my other issues. How come my other Dr. didn't see all of this.?  I have been emotionally put through the ringer and If I stop TTC after all of these years I don't know if I can continue. I don't understand how I can have a set of twins at 16 with no help or meds at all might I add and now I can't get pregnant at all. What would you do?

i am sorry that u have benn tryin for that long with no joy and as for ur dr i think that is terrible that u went that long without knowin the problems u had but on the up side at least u do now and u can work on getting it fixed maybe that is why u never fell pregnant but i have 2 kids from previous partner and now me and my bf have been trying for 19 months and still nothing but i feel when i go 2 the docs i need 2 tell them what tests i want dun and even then the are reluctant. Maybe u shoud stop trying 2 get pregant well not stop trying but consentrate on getting urself fixed make that top priority but still dont use any protection/contraseption and u never know it may just work out for the better i am 1 of those ppl that believe everything happens for a reason and at the right time hope this helps a little?? add me as a friend and keep me posted on how things are going for u plz

Hormonal diseases can start later in life so the fact you got pregnant at 16 without any problems and are having trouble now is not uncommon.

Thyroid problems can effect your ability to conceive so once that is treated, you will have a better chance at getting pregnant.  PCOS can also cause problems conceiving - the key is to get a good doctor that will work with you and treat you appropriately.  Not all doctors are knowledgeable in these areas but it sounds like you have found one that has found some route causes for your problems so appropriate treatment can begin.
