Looking into circumsicion

My fiancé and I have decided to get our son circumsised. But I am wondering if we will have enough to do it because our insurance doesn't pay for it. We have $125 saved out of the $225 my dr's office will charge to do it. But I am worried that we will not be able to save the last hundred before he is born early or anything. Is there anywhere that we can get it done cheaper? I'm 32 weeks and a little worried.

Wow guys thats expensive. where im from when i had my first son it only cost me $25 and it was done at the hospital before he went home. they would have done it sooner but he was hooked up to a bunch of cords, iv's, oxygen.

I think if you find the right urologist they would say it is medically necessary. The one that did my sons procedure was very against not having it done.

Where i am in Minnesota, they consider it a cosmetic procedure. Not a neccessity. My insurance wont pay unless it is medically neccessary. I havent figured out how much it will cost me but i do want to have my son have it done

I know my insurance covered it with my son, he was a preemie and had to wait til he was over a year old to get his done. He had to be put under general anesthetic and everything! I didn't know that some insurance companies did not cover it!!

Can you get a note from the doctor stating that it is medically necessary? Sometimes, if the insurance gets that, they will pay for it.

I'm from adelaide, and the price here is crazy, going to cost us $480 and we get $120 or something like that back after.

I would recommend to find the money somewhere. Parents, friends, bank. Im not sure how much it is where i live (canada) but i know for sure that this is probably not something you want to look in cheaper surgeries. I mean this is the penis is is going to have to rest of his life. I know that my hubby and i are willing to pay whatever price for it at our hospital as it is the best hospital there is in canada. We have to pay upfront too im hoping they can do it same day or something.

100$ isnt that much nowadays. Im sure if you borrowed it from family or friends youll easily pay it back. It is for the sake of your son after all. I think 200$ ish around that is a common price everywhere now.

It depends on where you live, you might want to ask your doctor at your next appt. about places to have It done. Here, I can get It done at the hospital or at the clinic I go to, but they both are the same prices. We're In the same boat you're In and I have less than a week left. It will cost us $200 bucks and we HAVE to pay upfront before they will do It. There's not really a time limit on when to have It done, It's juss recommended that the sooner the better. My doctor told me when a little after they're born, or two weeks or less Is the best time and try not to go over 6 weeks because they will be able to feel It more the farther along you do It. But If you don't have the money to do It right away, It won't hurt to wait a lil' bit longer after he Is born, so try not to worry If you don't have all the money right when he's born, you still will have time to get the rest of It after he Is born.
