Can this be a viable pregnancy?

I got a + HPT on Feb 1st (3 wks 2 days ago).  I had a transvaginal ultrasound on Feb 22nd, at which time by my calculations would put me at 7 wks 2 days pregnant.  Ultrasound showed gestational sac to be 6 weeks and fetal pole to be 5 wks 2 days.  I am to have a repeat u/s in a week to see if there is any change.  Since I got the +HPT over 3 weeks ago is it even possible for this to be a viable pregnancy?

Yeah, some people can't see/hear heartbeats until around 8 weeks....don't stress just yet.  You could always have Hcg levels drawn on Mon. and again on Tues. to see if they rise...if you can't stand the waiting game until Fri.  (which I would probably do b/c I'm a freak!).  You can just call you OB office and they should order it for you.

I didn't see a heart beat with my son at 6 weeks, but then I did at 7 weeks.  A few days make a HUGE difference this early in pregnancy.  We saw the heart beat with this one at 8.5 weeks.  Hang in there, I know the waiting is horrible but keep positive thoughts.  My doctor always said if you are not having any cramping or bleeding, stop worrying (easier said then done I know).  We tend to focus on the negative - 20% of pregnancies end in miscarraige, but that means 80% DO NOT - so think positive!!!!!

next u/s is on Friday, Feb 29th.  The reason I am being so doubtful about this is because of the fact that I had a positive HPT over 3 weeks ago....transvaginal ultrasound surely should have shown heartbeat since the pregnancy has to be at least 6.5+ weeks in order for me to have gotten +HPT, right??

unfortunately the only way to tell will be to wait for your next ultrasound, you should be able to see a heartbeat by then, sometimes calculations are a little bit off and you might be a little behind what you are thinking..good luck!! whens your next ultrasound?
