ANY BFP WITH FEMARA?

Question

I did one cycle of clomid in jan... 100 mg on cd 3-7 but after lab test the nurse told me that i didn't respond to the clomid. I had a follow up with the RE today and she is gonna put me on 7.5 mg Letrozole from cd 3-7 with ovidrel and monitoring. my ins dont cover the monitoring so i didnt do it with the clomid cycle but this time around i want to so i have to pay $650 up front... alot of money but i really want to make sure they can see whether or not im gonna respond to the letrozole. I didnt end up getting a period after taking the clomid in jan so now i have to take provera to induce a period so i can start on the letrozole. 

So, my question is has anyone been able to conceive with letrozole and how many cycles before you got a BFP??

I see.. thanks so much for all the info... i'll keep you posted on whether or not this cycle worked out for me... lots of baby dust for us and everyone else out there who's still on the TTC boat!!!

As soon as I found out I was preg I went so I can get my hcg levels tested then in 48 hrs they tested them again, this is when i found out my progesterone was 12 they gave me the supp right      away, my prog was 26 when I miscarried which 26 is good but it needed to be this level at the very beginning of my pregnancy

Thats great you dont have to wait that long then. Did you know what your prog level was prior to your mc?? I think that might be the same case for me too... i read alot on low prog causing early mc everywhere online. Im going to ask my RE about this the next time i go see her... hopefully i wont have to ask her IF i get prego with this first cycle of femara... im so hoping and praying for a miracle blessing.

Thanks for asking, it was good he told me to wait one cycle before trying again. Then he is goin to put me back on femera 7.5, he said I miscarried because my progesterone levels were so low so this time as soon as I start ovulating they are goin to start me on prog supp before I conceive and he also said at least he knows I can get preg now and it shouldn't take 3 years this time since the femera 7.5 made me ovulate right away. They told me to wait 2 more weeks to see if I my cycle come on it's own, if not I'm going to have to take provera first.

I see.. im glad to hear that you have a son... im still waiting for the day i become a mother. its hard hearing other moms telling me oh your time will come.. your still young... well its not that easy when you dont O or get a period... i just hope and pray that i will respond to the femara and since its expensive for the monitoring i hope im one of the lucky ones where it will work the first cycle especially cause i cannot afford to pay 650 every cycle to be monitored. 

so how was your dr's appt??

I am in the same boat as you. C it's weird 7 years ago I was on the pill and a newleywed I went out of town and left my pills, when I got back home I was 3 days behind, silly me took all three. I started spottin so the nurse said stop this pack and start a new pack when your cycle comes. It never came I was preg with my only child, at the beg of that preg I started bleedin and my hcg levels were low and not doubli
but with a lot of prayer my son pulled thru. This recent miscarriage I was on the 7.5mg of femera for my second month dec and Jan. I found out j was preg after tryjn for 3 years then I started bleedin the u/s should no baby even existed I still have ques I haven't had a cycle since the mc, it's now been 4 weeks later. I'm goin to the dr tom. I was told I have some signs of pocs but they never def diagnosed me. The 7.5 femera is the only med so far that has made me ovulate so I guess they will put me back on it.

Thanks for your replying back. Sorry about your mc.. i also had a mc last june after finding out i was 5 weeks prego. Did you get prego on your own or did the femara worked on the 7.5 mg?? You said you tried again in jan and did not get a cycle... so i was curious if you had O on your own after the fact and ended up getting prego. Since i didnt respond to clomid my RE recommend i take the highest dosage on the femara so im crossing my fingers/toes and hoping this coming cycle will work for me. I have mild pcos since i dont ovulate and get a period on my own... are you in the same boat as me or you have other infertility issues?

I was on Femera for about 8 mos on 2.5mg and I did not conceive and had to take provera each time to get a cycle. Then in December they increased my dosage to 7.5mg I ovulated and got a cycle but did not get preg then in jan tried it again did not get a cycle, my breast was really sore and my back was killin me I was pregnant finally then I had a miscarriage at 6 weeks so now I'm waitin to c if I'm goin to have a cycle on my own after the miscarriage or if they are goin to put me on provera first then the same dose of femera because the 7.5mg really work great for me. Good luck to you. I tried clomid it didn't do anything for me either.
