You'll know when they're engorged. They will be bigger, harder, and sore.
Thank you ladies. I'm going to breastfeed for sure until my baby is a year and I'll only use pump if my breasts enlarge. But how do you know when they enlarge? What if I can't tell the difference of the pain and I think it's just because I'm breastfeeding?
Ladies if u want ur baby to be healthy!! Then u gotta breastfeed him or her for 2 years...
I used a breast pump because I needed to be away from my baby sometimes and because I personally wasn't comfortable breastfeeding in public. I was still breastfeeding. I just pumped for when I wasn't home. I'm a stay at home mom. But occasionally after a while I wanted to go to the grocery store on my own or go out with just my husband and I didn't want to give formula yet. It's really just a personal choice. If you don't want to give bottles at all then that's great too. If it works for you that's wonderful. You should do what you're comfortable with and what you think is best.
I strictly breastfed till my son was 1.5 :) the only time I used a pump was when my breast were engorged
Thank you ladies :) I'm going to try what you did geekmom1213 I'll teach my baby not to bite when teeth are coming in because I really plan too do it for at least till my baby turns 1
I pumped while I was at work (went back after six weeks) and at school (went back to college after six months) but when I was home I still nursed my son - all the way up until he was two years old. When he got teeth I taught him not to bite, when someone else was watching him he took a bottle just fine, but always preferred to nurse at the breast. After the first few weeks of discomfort it didn't hurt to nurse, and it didn't ever really hurt to pump - though without my son in my arms it was definitely more difficult to stimulate the letdown reflex so it took longer to pump.
I loved nursing my kiddo. Can't wait to do it again with baby #2. It's very very good for babies, there's nothing wrong with exclusively breastfeeding if that's something you have the opportunity to do. Some people prefer to exclusively pump or to do a combination and that's okay too if that's what works for you. But it is your choice.
You can pump after feedings to help increase milk supply also. I do it to releave pain too. breastfeeding is great! Just make sure you have a good latch and you'll do fine!
I found after my daughter was born my breasts would engorge and get soo full and tight with milk usually when baby was sleeping, it would hurt soo bad that i used the breast pump to relieve the pain!
Aw man lol thanks ladies. Hmm now I have to rethink because I planned on breastfeeding till at least 1 year because I heard it's good for them
Or teething baby. Some women don't like the pain.. can't handle the pain ... my son is teething early and he grinding his hard lil gums On My nips lol. Doesn't bother me tho.
You don't want the baby to be too attached to the boob.. I am 3 months into strictly breastfeeding and I plan to give him bottles soon. Also other people may want to help feed baby.. baby and daddy bonding time. Or babysitter feeding baby.
A lot of women stop breastfeeding as much when they go to back to work also
Well after so long sometimes the baby doesn't want to latch on anymore so woman start using a Brest pump and give it to them through a bottle
