Delay cord clamping until it stops pulsating, to nurse right away, and I find the best position to help from tearing is on my side. I've had 4 kids, had the epi's with 3, natural with the last one, and wished I never took the drugs with #2&3. #1 was justifiable cause its the first amd I was scared but there is more freedom with out meds and my labors are really quick, not painful until ring of fire
My husband and I made oit a birth plan and stuck with it. I put what type of pain relief I wanted (i used oils and massage), that we wanted skin to skin time, hubby wanted to cut the umbilical cord, no shots, as little dr assistance as possible, and iv cap so I could move around freely and pitocin on a slow drip of labor went over 6 hours (my labor lasted 22 hours) and I think a couple other things but I don't remember. My mom and husband helped me stick with the whole time and the nurses respected out wishes. I love plans and it helped that hubby knew what I wanted because it made it feel more able to help me without having to guess.

After having an epidural with my first, the only thing I planned for was not getting an epidural. Stuck to it and tried iv drugs, didn't completely make the pain go away but it was 100% better than an epidural. I have a high pain tolerance.
I know I want skin on skin contact right after she is born and also breastfeed as soon as she is born.
With my first I didn't have one and I panicked when I was in labour. But I don't think anything could have prepared me for labour anyway. But this time I have more of an idea of what i want. Midwife was even asking what position I want to give birth in. Also look into things like skin to skin contact and breastfeeding as soon as baby is born. But it's true, things don't always go according to plan
Never did one, my opinion most pointless thing u could do, you have no idea how your child's birth is gonna be like most people say no epidural then when there in labour ask for one, what ever plan you make you won't stick to it, never did it with my son and won't be with this one xx
