Mucus plug q (tmi)

Ok so by the third baby you'd think you'd have seen it all, but no!! I've never noticed a plug or show before with either of my other kids but for the last few days (38w3d today) something strange has been happening. I've had extra discharge / mucus, but I've also noticed that when I have to push out a bm there is mucus coming out too, sometimes cream coloured sometimes like mucusy old blood. Could it be coming from my cervix when I'm pushing down??

Its probably because when you have a bowel motion you have to push and it forces more of it out thatn when you have to pee :)

Oh ladies I totally understand all about the plug, I was more concerned that it seems to be coming away more when I have a bm than when I go pee, is that normal? Or is it not my plug and just something strange going on with my bowel?

You will slowly loose your mucus plug, for some women it's a few days while other women it might take 2 weeks. It means your cervix is preparing for labor by getting softer and possibly effacing...then once baby is ready it's much easier for your cervix to dilate. With my son I started getting globs of mucus at the end of 37 weeks and then by 38 1/2 weeks I had my bloody show and went into labor at 38w6d. Best of luck!

A bloody show it more telling than loosing your mucous plug. If you see more blood then you are close. And it's more than a tinge of blood...it's more obvious than that.

Your mucous plug can come away for a while during pregnancy and it rebuilds itself . All it means is that you're nearing the end. Don't panic I lost mine over a long period of time before I had my daughter

Your mucus plug is dropping bc you're about to be ready to go into labor in some weeks. My best friend told me that. She had it when she was pregnant. Don't go swimming or anything.
