Am I Pregnant?

Hi there,  I am new to this site and this is a bit complicated so here goes ill explain as best as I can........

Firstly a brief history, I am a 29 year old mother of 4 children b6 b5 and twins g3 b3, so you would think I had a vague idea lol.  I had a merina coil removed back in May 2009 this year after it was getting uncomfortable.  My husband and I have been using the withdrawal method ever since as I dont want to go back on hormones and he wont have a vasectomy.  I know its not the most reliable method, but I dont mind another baby anyway.  Ever since the removal I settled down into my old 28 day cycle, bleeding for 5-6 days moderate to heavy.

Right the confusion started 2 months ago  I was due on my period on the 25th Sept, but I came on 4 days early on the 21st, a bit unusual, but it only lasted 3 days, it was bright red and it was moderate but not too heavy.  Then on the 26th of Sept, hubby and I had intercourse with a condom and after he came we realised it had broken!  So I rinsed with a shower head, sorry tmi!  I should have got the morning after pill, but it was the weekend and I didnt want to cause a fuss, thinking it was day 5 of my cycle so the chances of getting pg were low anyway,  that evening I had a brown discharge just when I wiped, that was it.

My next period, based on a 28 day cycle from the last (early) period was 19th Oct, and lo and behold I started on the morning of that day, so I thought everything was back to normal.  Id been having nausea, heartburn, sore boobs, (including one that leaked a tiny bit of milk) for a couple of days before this.  My period only lasted a day and a half, bright red, but light, I only used 4 tampons!!  So I finished my period on the 20th but was still feeling sicky etc, so I did a hpt and it was neg,  I still felt sick, heartburn etc so on the 23rd Sept did a hpt which was neg, the same on the 27th Sept by this point surely I would have been 8 days late if id missed my period!?!  Anyway yesterday I did a cheap test and I saw a very faint positive, and I mean faint, but definetly there!  I worried it was an evap line, as it said the result would be there within 5 mins and this was approx 8 mins.  So I rushed back upstairs and did another within the timeframe it said neg, and just after, a very faint line.  I dont know the strength of the test it didnt say.

Im not sure what to think,  was it just evap lines?  I have ordered more hpt off ebay as they are cheaper, but they wont come till tomorrow.  I thought hpt were reliable from the day of your period?  Anyone else had a delay in a positive result?  I would be on day 11 now?  surely about to ovulate again, do have to point out im not having my stretchy white discharge that would be normal for a few days before ovulation?  Oh I dont know am I just hoping too much xx

Just take another test in a few days to a week.  If you are pregnant, there will be  more HCG in your urine by then for the test to pick up.

It usually takes at least 14 days after fertilization for a sensitive pregnancy test to reliably confirm a pregnant result.  Sometimes even just a bit longer, so test again if you are unsure.

I don't show positive until 6 weeks out so it is totally possible!!! Good luck and let us know how it goes!
