Announcing your pregnancy too soon?

How long did you wait to tell your immediate family that you were expecting. I will be 7 weeks on NYE and will not see a dr until 8 weeks. Is that too soon to tell my immediate family as in my parents and siblings?

This is my 2nd Pregnancy and I found out at 7 weeks, my Mom knew first because I was so scared and she was right outside the bathroom door as I took the test. The only people who knew right away were my hubby and his Mom. I didn't feel comfortable telling anyone else at the at that point. I did begin to tell other close family members at around 12 weeks. Now I'm 16 weeks and all my family and close friends know. I still haunt made a formal announcement via Facebook or anything. Really it's whenever you are comfortable telling everyone, there is no rule about it. I've onot ever hears to wait until 12 weeks to make sure everything is going well and you aren't going to miscarry. Good luck I hope all is well:)

I took the hpt at like 730am last Wednesday and when it said positive my boyfriend woke my mom up and sat beside her while I sat far away and he told her. Got the confirmation that day at the health dept. I'm 6 weeks and 2 days today. Our first baby. We didn't wait because we thought it would be best to let them know.

I think it's upto you, no 2 people are the same so do what feels right.

We've always told our family & very closest friends pretty much within the first week of finding out.
We are now 6 weeks pregnant & are planning on telling all on Christmas day ;)
Remember ther is no right or wrong, do what feels right!

Oh & congrats xx

I would not wait to tell my family something so amazing! I had a tubal pregnancy but I told my family as soon as we found out we were pregnant. You need their support through the good and the bad. I also have a problem keeping secrets from my family. We have a very open relationship and keeping something so exciting from them was just not a possibility. When we found out our baby was in my tube and we would not be able to have it, their support and understanding was a big part of why I am able to keep going today! Tell them when you are comfortable.
