Antidepressants and pregnant

I was on antidepressants while I conceived when I found out I stopped taking them. I'm worried something might be wrong while he grows.  Im only 6wks now. Anyone else been in similar situation?

Your doctor can prescribe you a baby "safe" anti depressant but I strongly suggest talking thoroughly with your doctor and pharmacist about the side effects. I was prescribed a different anti depressant and upon looking it up and talking with the pharmacist that they didn't know what effect it would have on the baby so I refused to take them.

You should definitely ask your OB. Antidepressants do help with depression, other mental disorders and even headaches but they really aren't supposed to be taken during pregnancy, at least some aren't. Definitely ask your OB or doctor who prescribed them to you.

Um.. have you talked to your ob?  Cause I believe some are actually ok,(not positive but I believe my friend was out on antidepressants when she was 7 months) -.- but apparently doing drugs are "good" for baby's now so why would antidepressants hurt a child.. so you might want to ask 2obgyns to be positive
