Any one still name baby after dad?

it's my bf first child and he's almost 30. he's already a Jr but we were both thinking of naming the baby after him if it's a boy.

Were not too sure if we wana do the whole jr thing. My bf said he didn't really like his name growing up (arnold) and doesn't wana name our son that. Then there's days where he does so idk lol. We have 8 more weeks to decide. I told hubby its up to him. His middle name is Adrian n I like that better :)

My fiancé is a jr and his grandpa definetly begged to name him the same. We kept the middle name to name after daddy but gave him his own first name. Daddy is Michael James and son is Dean James.

We're going sort of the opposite, instead of carrying his first name down baby boy will share his middle name with his daddy and granddaddy.   My hubby asked that we not use his first name because then our boy will end up being called junior or j r and not his actual name .

My husband is the third John. If we have a boy he wants to name the baby John. I say hell no! I love my husband but his dad can be a monster and I am not giving my baby his name. Also his grand dad who was John also was a horrible man, abusive and he abandoned his wife with 5 children. If my husbands name had a better trck record I would absoloutly name my baby John, but I am not giving his dad that. If he ever showed an once of respect towards me I might feel diffrently.

Both of my son's are named after their dad. I did not do Jr but gave them his first name as a middle name. I have Caleb Douglas and will have a Chance Douglas.
