What to do? :(

My boyfriends grandma is from out of state and we don't see her much. She's a wonderful person and I love seeing her! The only problem is my boyfriend told me that she has planned a trip to visit us right when our baby is born... She wants to stay with us for a week! I told my boyfriend absolutely not bc I want to spend the first few weeks alone getting used to motherhood and all. I feel bad.. Am I wrong? Should I let her come and stay? And how in the world do we tell her no?

I agree.. I probably will like the help but ugh it's just so hard.. I don't want to be controlling but I want to be comfortable and run around the house half naked if I want to haha.. But I know it's only a week. I guess we will see how things go

Thats a tough situation...can you ask her to post pone the trip? And just tell her you are not syre if you will feel up to having visitors for the first couple of weeks? Although she may be able to help you out! The first few weeks are tough finding a routine that works"

You shouldn't feel bad at all but just be sure.  What I mean is, you may find yourself needing some extra help at that time, even if only so you can take a nap.  If your bf will be there to help you, then you won't need her there then.

Maybe just tell her that you would rather her come when the baby is a few weeks old, because you see yourself really needing more help then or maybe after your bf goes back to work.

I understand you wanting time to bond w/ your baby.  Just keep in mind that if she is only staying a week, I promise you will have that special time w/ your baby.  You really will.
