Anyone ever heard of this?

A friend of my mom's is desperately trying to get pregnant. She went to her ob and he says her fellopian tubes are blocked, which they can undo.  She then saw a feritility specialist who was basically an @ss.

These are the things she's experiencing:
blocked fellopian tubes
she bleeds more than she's not.
somehow she's ovulating while she's bleeding (according to this fertility quack) so it's obviously not her period.

Anyone have ANY idea of what could be going on?

Yes, she needs a second opinion obligatory. She can`t wait more, her doctor must take this seriously and make everything what is possible in medicine.

the ob said he would unblock her tubes...
What confuses me is that this infertility quack she saw pretty much told her she's screwed and was just about as rude saying it.

It sounds to me like something hormonal is off but as far as I know he hasn't checked any of her hormone levels to see if something needs regulating.  My mom and I agree that she needs a second opinion.  I believe she's in her 30's, maybe early 40's and she's never had children.

I just think it's strange that this doctor wouldn't do any further investigating, just rudly said she was SOL.

When IVF is made the tubes isn`t necessary to be unblocked (or normal). They do an transfer of embrio in the uterus before prepared with hormonal therapy.

I don't know anything about this either but if she's ovulating, her tubes can't be completely blocked, can they? Would it be safe for her to BD and TTC while she's bleeding like this? I know it's gross but it might be the only option she has other than IVF.

Reading Lanz's post, it makes sense. Will they unblock her tubes?

How old is she? Maybe she needs to take hormones wich mimics a normal cycle. Obviously she has hormonal disbalance, lack of progesterone in the second part of the cycle. And with blocked fallopian tubes the only way to get pregnant is IVF.

I'm sorry but I don't know what's going on. I wanted to respond to bump this back to the top.
