Group B Strep is very common and alot of women have it, it is an infection which is harmless to the mother but can be passed onto the infant when coming out and can cause thrush and a couple other infections. If you do the test and you do have it, you need to take an IV medicine when you go into labor.
I have it and I have had 2 boys naturally and took the IV meds and the worked perfectly my boys were both healthy and never got sick from it.
Other things that can be done at your appointment are pretty much everything at your other ones and the doctor will probably start checking to see if you are dilating and thinning out any. Also this will be the starting of weekly appointments as well.
Good Luck :)

It's a bacterial infection found in the vagina that can cause problems for the baby.
