Group B Strep is very common and alot of women have it, it is an infection which is harmless to the mother but can be passed onto the infant when coming out and can cause thrush and a couple other infections. If you do the test and you do have it, you need to take an IV medicine when you go into labor.
I have it and I have had 2 boys naturally and took the IV meds and the worked perfectly my boys were both healthy and never got sick from it.
Other things that can be done at your appointment are pretty much everything at your other ones and the doctor will probably start checking to see if you are dilating and thinning out any. Also this will be the starting of weekly appointments as well.
Good Luck :)
It's a bacterial infection found in the vagina that can cause problems for the baby.

I'm 36weeks n I went to my doctors appt this week. He listened to my baby heart beat n checked to see if I had dailated. And that's about it I start going every week now
Just had mine. They check to see if the baby is head down and they also check you for group b strep.
Mine told me I need to get my cervix checked as far as diseases being passed to the baby.
