labor and know it?!

I'm a little worried because every woman in my family didn't know they were in labor until after they were at least 6cm. I have had constant back pain and I get pressure often on my pubic bone.I have been having contractions for weeks! They are now happening with cramping. But not regular and they are uncomfortable but not what I would consider intense. I'll be 39 weeks in 2 days and I'm almost fully effaced and I was 1 cm dilated at my last doctor appt... which was 4 days ago. I'm so scared that I won't catch my contractions in time... am I getting close?? What are your experiences with prior labor??

I'm sure you are close either way you look at it but with my 1st at about 38 wks I had sex and afterwards it felt like my baby kept balling up in my stomach and it was getting tight. It lasted for a couple hrs and I had no idea that these were contractions until my next dr appt and I was 5 cm. sadly they would not let me deliver because I won't having contractions so when I did go into labor on my due date I was 7 cm when I got to the hospital and had to deliver naturally. Good luck Hun u won't have long now

But its not timing right... and my back always hurts so I don't know when its hurting from a contraction or just because. I'm not having contractions every few minutes like they say will happen.. its uncomfortable when they do happen but not painful
