My baby had to go in the nursey over night because of low heart rate and we were suppose to go home today it was just heart breaking to not have me by my side  last night. ):

Insist on as much skin-to-skin time with your baby as possible. Baby can wear monitors if they are concerned about heart rate continuing to drop. Being close to you (esp while breastfeeding though all such contact is hugely beneficial) helps immensely in the baby being able to regulate heart rate and temperature. I'm astonished that they didn't start with trying the option that doesn't separate mother and child.
Best of luck. This is a common and usually self-resolving issue. Snuggle that little one and hopefully very soon you'll be home together.

Hi there.  Well, I'm really sorry to hear about the low heart rate.  I'm sure that is worrisome for you!  I didn't keep my babies in the room with me at night after they were born and allowed the nurses in the nursery to take care of them----  my sister had recommended that to me as it is so tiring once you get home, I wanted to rest up to be prepared for 24 hour duty while I knew the babies would be safe with the nurses.  I got could sleep (well, as good as you can get in the hospital) and was ready to be in charge once home during the night.  I didn't have anyone come and help me so the nighttime care was all me once home so took advantage of that one time in which there was someone (the nurses) to help me.

But that is a totally different deal than HAVING to put your baby in nursery when you don't want to due to a health concern.  Hope all stabilizes and is fine sweetie.  Best of luck to you and your baby.
