My youngest brother is five and the kids my mother in law (who we live with)  watches are two, four, and seven. We did just fine simply telling them that my husband and I were going to have a baby and it was growing in my tummy. The two year old asked if I had eaten the baby and, once I could contain myself again, it was  satisfactorily explained away by saying "no, silly, that's just where babies grow and come from." She said "ok!" and went right back to playing.

I gave my five year old a teddy bear with a tshirt on bear... on the tshirt was our 12week scan and a message saying "----------- IS going to be a big sister".
She later asked was the baby in my belly I said yes and we will get him out after Christmas.

She didn't care how it got there she wanted to know how does it get out .. I showed her my section scar and told her dr. Opens your belly and takes bby out.

My cousin is only 4 and asked me why I'm having a baby and where she came from. I told her that when a mummy and daddy really want a baby they go to see their Dr. The Dr will give the mummy some baby seeds that the mummy has to eat and then drink lots of water. The seed then grows in your tummy and turns in to a baby, and when the baby gets too big you go to the hospital and the Dr takes the baby out. She knows the baby is inside me and has felt the baby kicking. She's super excited to meet her baby cousin and keeps talking about all the things they can play together once my baby is bigger

My little brother is 5 and we just told him that me and my husband 'ordered' a baby and are going to go pick the baby up from the hospital in September. My step-mum is pregnant too, his mum, and she's told him the same thing. He now calls me asking if we picked up the baby yet! Lol :)
And he's said that he's going to tell the postman that he ordered a baby lol

Tbh i would say what my grandparents told me mommy and daddys that are married and in love pray to the heavens for a baby, if their prayers are answered then god plants an angel seed in mommys tummy and that will be his baby sibling and its mommys job to grow and nurture the seed.
But thats from a christian family so if your diff religon just tweak it a bit XD
