Big drop in 10 month old weight! HELP

Ok I am getting a little concerned! Julian went to the ped about a month ago and weighed 20 lbs 4 oz and we were so excited he is FINALLY gaining properly! Well we went back a week ago on Tuesday and he dropped a little to 19lbs 13oz! Doctor was a little concerned and figured wewould watch it! So Today I had a nurse come to myhome and weigh him andhe weighed 19lbs 2 oz! WTF! What could cause this problem??? He has been eating as much if not more than before??

I dont know if this has anything to do with it but he has had an ear infection since about a month ago! (He is schudledto gettubes May 4th) Could this cause himto have this much of a weight drop???/ AHHHHH if its not one thing its something else!

I agree with the other ladies - if Julian is more active he will be burning more calories so that could explain the weight loss or slow weight gain.  If it makes you feel any better, Jazmine weighs less than 18 Ibs and is a few days older than Julian (BD = 6/18/08).  Jazmine has been very active lately and also teething so refuses to eat sometimes - we are not too worried about it.

Also, you could try offering him more food and see if he consumes it.

that's only a little bit of weight .. i see nothing to be concerned about. my daughter is a walker (yeah!!! started at 10 months old)   and she has lost  a little weight but its cause shes more mobile now. And may I ask why does a nurse come to your home? I'm just curious.. i have never heard of a nurse coming to a home for a baby appointment.. unless the baby has physical or mental problems..

Also babies weight changes with different times of the day .. and had he eaten prior to the weighing... that affects it as well..

Is Julian crawling and being very active? Once kids reach about 1 year old their weight plateaus. And because he's had an ear infection he may not be getting enough calories for his age. I've had ear infections growing up (and tubes in my ears) and it's so very painful, especially to chew.

So if he's being more active, but not getting as many calories as he should, his weight should drop a little. He's just burning up all his calories! Hopefully the tubes in his ears will help him feel so much better!
