Birth control?

Okay ladies, I'm currently 35w+1d and I'm trying to plan ahead on what method of birth control to use after my baby girl is born. I can't remember to take the pills to save my life so that's out of the question. I also tried the depo after I miscarried with my first pregnancy but it caused me to stay on my period for almost a whole year, so I'm terrified to try that again!
What methods have y'all had good experiences with?
Such as the implanon, mirena, IUD, or anything else??

Omg! I'm so sorry you had such a horrific experience like that! I'm not sure if they use the same thing in Ireland as they do here in US. That's terrible though. My ex sister in law had the implanon though and she loved it. She kept it for 3 years then had it taken out and put another one in its place and she hasn't had any problems. I think it all depends on how your body reacts to it though, and also the person inserting it! I believe I'm going to try it. I just hope it doesn't do me like the depo did :( but we shall see :)

I was one of the few people I knew that had a problem with the implanon. My body just didnt react well with it and I had my period for months at a time and finally had to have it removed. Nearly every one else I talk to hasnt had the problem so maybe mine was a fluke! Its a possible side effect because you have problems with the depo shot though.

I was on depo before and hated it. I was going to get the one that goes in your arm but my doctor told me it is basically just like depo

Reading good reviews of implanon here they must use a different implanon in usa to Ireland.
because I've met women of all ages in the guiny clinic and all with extremely bad stories of implanon.
Research it hunnie x

I had implanon and an absolutely horrific experience they thought I was going to be left with fertility issues.

I'll spare you graphics but er thought I was in labour because doctors could feel my body contracting and I won't detail on what was expelled.
I had it a year before I fell ill from it or knew what damage it was doing and in those months I recommended it too.

I had a puv this pregnancy because the damage from implanon.

Ultimately its your choice but please don't get implanon

Yeah I've heard a lot of bad stuff about the mirena! I'm honestly scared to death to have anything inserted vaginally because of that! I think I'll go for the implanon in the arm, as I've heard many good things about it. Thanks ladies! :)

I had a very bad experience with Mirena, so I can't recommend that to anyone. It became dislodged and I had to get it removed via surgery. I am going to get the arm implant after my pregnancy. I have a lot of friends who swear by it.

Personally I really loved implanon it's a rod that goes into your arm lasts for 3-4 years was a very simple process putting it in and taking it out. Never got in my way they make a small incision in your arm it's tender for a day but it's fine after that.

That's the one I've been leaning towards! I think it lasts for like 3 years? And I've heard a lot of positive comments on it. I also plan to bottle feed, because I have to go back to working full time 6 weeks after she's born

I liked the IUD that goes inside the arm. Its a weird process but it never gave me a problem and I never had a period which was weird for me. It also depends on if your going to breast feed or not. Might want to ask your doctor which ones are the safest if you do breast feed. If not then any are okay for you
