Bleeding During Second Trimester

My wife is 17 weeks pregnant and was recently in the E.R. for heavy bleeding. The ultra sound showed no real concers but the doctor told my wife she should rest a couple days. The bleeding has subsided but I am worried that she might be at risk for premature labor. Beginning Monday she has nursing school and she also works full time. Is there anything advice you have?

spade gave some very good advice and I second what she said.  Your wife really needs to take it easy at this point until she sees her obstetrician. That may mean putting off school and work for a few more days.

Have your wife follow up with her regular doctor as soon as possible - ER doctors aren't specialists so it's important she has a follow up in case there are additional precautions she needs to take.  Call the dr as soon as you can.

I am not a doctor but second the ER doctors advice in that she take it very easy until  she can see her doctor.  Make sure she is drinking enough and refrain from having sex until she has been seen.

If I were in her shoes I would not go back to school or work until had a follow up appointment.
