Thanks everyone, but I have managed to go a little more but not enough to give me any comfort. The midwife from my dr's office told me that I can't do an enema. I tried coffee, because it usually gets things going but even that hasn't worked. I even tried apple juice because with me, too much of it gives me massive poops... Didn't work either..... :( I am so uncomfortable right now, and to top it all off I may only be 10 weeks but I have fibromyalgia and a herniated disc in my lower back and baby is killin my lower back.. :(
Try milk of magnisium. That should help get things moving. If it doesn't then your only choice will probably be an enema. Sometimes there is something blocking the passage and almost nothing will help so that's your best choice if the milk of magnisium doesn't work!!
I still haven't been able to so I'm going to make some decaf coffee to see if that works for me too! Cross your fingers lol
The cramps will probably continue till you are normal again. It's your body's way of trying to move things along. Try a cup of coffee that is like an instant poop maker ;) or prunes or high fiber foods or fiber pills or more stool softener.
Well, I managed to go just a little bit.. but still feel like I could go some more. I took 2 stool softeners last night and then drank a big cup of apple juice, and I got wicked gassy.... But I still am having stomach cramps.... :(
I hadn't pooped for three days so I had a decaf coffee this afternoon and OMG within two hours it was magic! I also use fiber choice orange chewable fiber pills. They are tasty and work just start with a half pill and increase from there bc it can make you crazy gassy. Good luck!
My dr. told me to take 3 - 5 stool softeners a day until I am on the verge of diarrhea then back off by one pill. I am 32 weeks preg and it's horrible!!! I didn't have these issues with either of my other two babies.
I'm 36wks and have been suffering from severe constipation. So bad it's causing me hip and thigh pain along with gassy mucus and blood. My doctor told me to get dulcolax stool softeners. I'm going to take my first pill tonight in hopes of havin a bowel movement by Sunday. I really didn't want this problem at my baby shower tomorrow :(
I know exactly how you feel! I have been going through the same thing and I am so uncomfortable!!! :( Let me know if anything works for you!
Yay thanks. :) I feel like I weigh about 200 lbs right now lol
heres a list of over the counter stuff you can take while pregnant, of course i would call your ob and get the ok first and just tell him the stool softner hasnt worked.

Thanks! That helped me understand better. I've had this problem before but not nearly as bad so I asked my dr and she told me I could take a stool softener. I've taken it the past two days and it's not helping. So I'm kind of at a loss for what do now
actually it may very well be related to pregnancy, its caused from increased levels of progesterone and since you are 23w not it can be caused from your uterus pushing on your intestines. heres a link to the baby center article on it and it has some things you can try to do to relieve it. just erase the spaces in the website link

also be careful to make sure that if you don't have a bowel movement soon that you call your ob and ask what over the counter stuff you can take for it.
this is not related to pregnancy, but it would help you.
plum smart juice. My daughter calls it "poop juice".
try coffee.
Oh and I'm 23w 1d. I don't know if that affects what I can or can't do?
