Breast milk before baby !!

17 weeks and I'm so engorged. I bought a pump but I can only get it out by hand expressing, i have a toddler i don't have hours to stand over a sink. I can't keep up ! It hurts so bad. Anything I can do to ease the pain ?

The shower will not reduce the supply. It will just help release engorgement. Cabbage however can reduce supply but since she is not breastfeeding currently, it will benefit her.

But in general I don't think it would. I'm not to sure tho ! as long as you were not pouring milk I'd assume it's fine if your currently breastfeeding

No longer breast feeding my toddler , I weaned her 15 weeks ago. I didn't know much about the whole tandom feeding thing and she will be 2 in a few months so I figured it was time lol

If you are breastfeeding currently is it bad to take a hot shower and let the water hit them? Does the reduce your supply?

Ok that makes more sense now. Try cabbage leaves. Cold raw cabbage leaves and put them in ur bra. Get into a HOT shower for few minutes, let the water run on ur chest and massage breasts in circles, then use the cabbage. It should help a lot.

Lots of woman start producing milk before baby's born :) and colostrum only happens with hormone changes after both for 72 hours :) I am wondering if it's so extream because my daughter was just weaned completely 15 weeks ago :(

yes I was, but I didn't want to get into the Tandom feeding. And yeah I am engorged :( same feeling I had with my daughter when I was weaning her right before I foundout I was pregnant. My doc said to pump and just give it to my daughter or freeze it. But I can't get anything out by pumping. ( TMI ) but it's just pouring if I hand express or lean forward. Not really sure what else to do that will ease the pain !

You really shouldnt be pumping. The nipple stimulation can bring on contractions. Also, I doubt youre engorged because your milk doesnt come in until after birth. Colostrum is normal but doesnt cause engorgement, its not enough. Were u breastfeeding ur toddler before this happened?
