Breastfeeding in public?
Just wondering who feels self conscious about breastfeeding in public or in front of other people? I try to plan my outings around when I know she will need to nurse and I always cover up when I do but I still feel very self conscious about it. I was thinking maybe I should start pumping a few bottles just for when we do go out but I'm also hesitant to give her a bottle.
Ya i breastfed anywhere and everywhere with a cover. I was almost proud i was. AND i never received any dirty looks.
Ill be breast feeding at home and pumping for when we go out. Mostly cuz I want hubby to be able to help out and cuz hes a little uncomfortable with me doing it in public cuz of pervs which is understandable.
People can be jerks sometimes, don't be ashamed to breastfeed your baby out in public, how do you think they ate back in colonial times, I think its a beautiful thing and it shouldnt matter what other people think Good luck!
No one has said anything to me about it when I have. I tend to be a self conscious person in general. The other day I took my baby to meet her dad's family. We met up at the restraunt of the hotel they were staying in. I started to feed my baby, covered up, and the sister started talking about how awkward and uncomfortable it is to bf in public and asked if I wanted to go up to her room to feed the baby in private. That made me feel even more self conscious and then I couldn't tell if she was feeling uncomfortable by it.
Girl don't be self conscience about it is a natural and beautiful thing. I don't know if its just me but i do it everywhere Target, Macys, Walmart where ever i am. Breastfeeding is alot of feeding on demand so its hard to always schedule around feeding time i always cover up n have gottn real good to where u don't even know im doing it unless i tell ya. also my lil one hides his lil face like he knows wat to do too its cute. My sisters always joke n call me the bf pro. i also think u might feel uncomfortable because not many women do it anymore n so u feel kinda akward least i did at first. You can try giving a bottle but my LO won't take one from me so it wasn't an option. Also by law places are required to have an area for u to nurse least in Ohio thats the case. I hope it gets better for u good luck momma
Some places have areas just for Moms to breastfeed. Babies R Us is one and some Toys R Us do too. My school has a room just for breast feeding Moms too. Im a little self conscious too about it, but I'll find someplace to do it if need be or pack some bottles.
I brestfed my daughter! I didn't care were I was or who was around if she was hungery she got fed! If I was in a real busy place like walmart or some place like that I would cover up then get them puppies out and she would do the rest! If anyone got upset about it I told them it was a natural thing and if they didn't like it they could stop looking or just leave! I also would take her to the restroom if I didn't feel comfy feeding her! Like if someone was like really watching or was like moving around to try to see my breast!
Bottles can interfere with breast feeding. I'm due ina few weeks and I'm already stressing about breast feeding in public. Sounds like you are discrete though. I don't think there's much you can do unless you are really worried and do use a bottle.
I don't care what any one thinks. My baby is hungry I'm going to feed it. I care less about what they think & focus more on that I'm doing the best thing for my baby. They don't hide in the bathroom to eat & neither will I.
