Breastfeeding?

I plan on breastfeeding but I was told sometimes the mothers milk doesn't come in right away.  So should I pack some formula in case or will they have some for me at the hospital already?
I am a first time mom &I only have 35 more days to go. I'm just curious &want to be prepared.

Breast milk comes in 2-5,on average after birth. Until your milk actually comes in your body produces colostrum which is what baby drinks until milk comes in. It is all they need very nutritious and for the size of their belly which is the size of a small marble that is all they need while your milk is coming in. Colostrum is also very high in antibodies etc :-) the worst thing you can do first thing off breastfeeding is give formula! It will need up your supply will not tell your body to produce milk etc what really brings your milk in after those first few days is in fact baby drinking from you it stimulates you and signals your body to produce and how much to produce etc. That is y it is, always important to feed baby on demand and not by the clock :-)

They are prepared for these kinds of situations and have all kinds of lactade support and information that they give you before you are discharged from the hospital ; )

Your body will produce colostrum before your milk comes in. Don't worry. :) If nothingIis produced though, the hospital should provide formula.
