Breastfeeding

I am currently 26 weeks and i have an almost 3 yr old and shes still breastfeeding. She does not want to stop. Anyone have any ideas to get her to stop without making her freak out? My nipples are so sore since i got pregnant it hurts to breastfeed her.

They nurse for comfort. So you need to encourage and help them find something else to get attached to. My son was 2.5 when he got attached to the binky.  My second song got attached to a blanket when I stopped. Good luck!!

My second son was VERY attached to the boob.  I began taking away feedings.  I offered milk in a sippy cup.  My doctor recommended adding a bit of strawberry syrup to it to make it 'enticing'.  So, I got down to only feeding in the am and pm out of bed and before bed.  Then I did away with the pm.  Then the am.  They adjust.  Don't feel bad about it.  Nutritional value goes WAY down past year one and it is hard to keep that up.  I did for what I'd say is probably 'too' long with my second son.  :>)  good luck hon

Start weening  her off. Substitute  regular milk for one feeding u would do. And gradually  increase  the substitution. And sooner or later she'll be off. Don't give in to the crying. ..lol breast  feed my son for ten months.
