Buying everything, no shower.

I've been looking around Walmart.   I'll be buying the 4-1 crib.  Baby daddy was supposed to buy it but he was let go from work because of health concerns and just started working at his old job again.  Right as it stands I'll have 600 dollars to buy things with.  I'm used to spending a few thousand dollars.  What should I buy first other than crib, caraway and baby bathtub and stroller? ..I need other things too but these are the most important.

U honestly can get majority of ur babies items with 600. I spent 150$ on a crib nd changing table combo at walmart i caught a sale on a travel system 130$ nd it was graco. His mattress was $60, tub was $25 . Caught my breast pump on sale for $ 40 and its tommee tippee.  So stick to sales nd ull come out great also sign up for email coupons or sale updates. babies'r'us is always sending me offers that really come in handy too. Nd if ur under budget when its all said and done buy a piggy bank nd start ur little bundle of joy college fund.  :)

Maybe on Canada Day I can look around.  I found a few things today on sale and saw that the 4-1 crib is on for 198.99.  Last week it was 299.99.  Grabbing that tomorrow afternoon.   Still looking for a good/cheap stroller,  car seat.  I'm sure I'll find one.  Thanks for the suggestions guys, really appreciate it xo.

No, I'll have more.  Right in my pocket I have 600 dollars.   I'll have another 600 in four weeks.  I just wanted to get a few of the bigger things out of the way.  Before buying all of the smaller things.  I'm just used to spending anywhere up to 3000 dollars, not 1200 dollars.

Honestly a tub is not a necessity. You can get a bath pail from the hospital & it works just as well since you shouldn't fully submerge baby in water in beginning anyways. Idk where you live but you can go to your local wic office. They give away free carseats for taking a class. Id say try finding a crib from those buy trade sale forums on Facebook.

you should think about cloth diapers to im looking into that. some cost a lot but you can reuse them instead of going and buying another case of diapers every two-three months

Goodwill.. Craigslist. All my baby stuff comes from them. I have the money to spend but I'd rather get used stuff because I'm only going to use it for a couple months like the previous owner. It don't make sense to buy a bunch of new stuff and then lock it up 5-6 months after using it.

Im n9t being mean but if your budget is strictly 600 $ your going to be surprised that you wont get much for that price unless you shop cheaper a consignment shop sells gently used baby stuff

Shop around at resale and consignment stores! Chains like Once Upon a Child have nice condition used stuff much cheaper prices. Craigslist, Facebook online garage sales, goodwill, salvation army, etc all have baby stuff for cheap if you look around. Many people will only use an item for a couple months then get rid of it. You will easily save hundreds of dollars!

Look for used stuff.  On Facebook I am  in multiple groups for used kids stuff. Most of it was only used a couple times... Save yourself a bunch of money!

From what I understand the hospitals here don't offer car seats or even a outfit.  I was told to bring everything.   They do have The Welcome Wagon here but I can't seem to find out what they offer and a coworker said they rent/sell your info to other companies.

If you're buying a bassinet try Burlington, I got mine for under $50. It came with toys the baby can look at & a night light in the front.

I know our hospital here gives carseats and they're very nice convertible ones, i bought my daughters last time and it was a 150 infant seat, def considering getting one from the hospital this time tosav the expense, your hospital may have this program also :)) allowing you more $$ for other necessities!

I liked the "koi travel system" from Walmart... and babies r us has some good ones also target has some that I've seen. Basinettes are awesome for newborns. I got one that sways so I can rock baby to sleep :) get some waterproof pads and place under the sheet to avoid messes. They sell 2packs of waterproof pads at Walmart for $5

I like Carters I live across from one and went in last week, pretty great prices and cut outfits.  I'm thinking of not buying the small things until maybe end of June since I'm due in August.   A friend told me to buy blankets and bibs at the dollar store.  Not sure if I trust that store for baby things.  If anyone has gotten stdf from there I'd like to hear of your experience.

I'm doing everything just like you girl. I brought some clothes bottles paci towels bath cloth and some cute little head bends lol some socks hats for 176 in babies r us and at old Navy I brought 9 stuff 5 bodysuits 4 onesi from 0-3 months and 3-6 months and that was 63 dollars. There's some special going on in babies and coupons for carters. Just look on line. The travel system of the stroller I found it at 181 on amazon but that's bc I get discounts bc my mom works for them but it's 190 I think

I buy J clothes for wiping baby, what is better J clothes or baby wipes?   I never actually tried baby wipes because at the hospital they used J clothes and warm water.

girl look on craigslist sometimes they have unopened items including cribs for a better price! also i suggest the carseat as a priority but buy that new, because an outdated or used one can be dangerous.
