You're talking about repairing a tear versus major abdominal surgery.  The pain and recovery from the c-section will be longer and more difficult, and may necessitate future c-sections if you choose to have more children.  I would discuss with your doctor ways to reduce the necessity of episiotomy and the risk of tearing.  It is very possible you could deliver baby #2 with far less damage than you had before.

A c-section is more painful, I'm sure. I had a c-section, they're cutting through 9 layers of your skin, and sewing them each back up individually. I have a very high pain tolerance, so I recovered within a week an a half, but was still sore. If you can do natural, that's definitely the way to go.
