yep I'm overweight too..I'm not huge, but I definitely carry more weight than I would like to (in high school I was on 4 varsity sports teams and VERY active...130lbs...and in college I gained a bunch of weight when I got sick).
I agree about focusing on being healthy and don't worry about looking like you're showing early....It really depends on the woman and not the weight. my SIL didn't show until she was almost 7 months (she's overweight) but with both pregnancies I started showing at 4 months....clearly baby belly, too, not just bloat or fat, lol....so it really just depends on how your body is shaped.
walk a lot, swim when it gets warm, and focus on eating healthy and your weight won't matter, just enjoy the whole experience :)
im still over weight from my 1st and im pregnant!there is a lot of us out there so try not to worry!
I'm overweight, but I don't "really" look it. I have a lot of "baby" weight I didn't loose from my first pregnancy so when I miscarried I started to show around 8 weeks, this time I'm only in week 5 so not showing much yet.
I agree, don't worry about telling people yet, I want to wait till at LEAST 12 weeks to tell work, but I'm afraid I'll be showing by then.
Being overweight you really don't "need" to gain much, so if you try to eat healthy and not too much you and the baby will be fine. When I miscarried I lost 10 lb by week 11, this time around I'm watching my weight closely, I'm Hoping to not gain more than 10 lb, but not sure what my midwife will want yet as I haven't had my first apt yet.
Try to focus on staying healthy for the baby and don't worry about if you "look" like your showing, some women just carry lots of extra weight in there belly, I doubt they'll say anything to you because if there smart they won't want to make a pregnancy comment to someone they aren't 100% sure is pregnant.
It own't be long and you will be past your first trimester. I would just let them think what they want then whenyou tell them they will just be like it all makes since. If you worry to much about it you will not be able to enjoy the belly when you do get it good! I am over weight not in my belly but I show fast every time! I know I am over weight and don't like *** but am just comcentrating on the baby at this point and will deal with the rest later. My dr said that stress about weight can make you gain more then you should. I just watch what I eat till it was safe to splurge once and a while once I got to 15 weeks and the baby would start to put on weight. I only gained 1 lb by then and they thought I gained 3 more when I went for my last check up but it was water weight from traveling and swelling. It is off now. My belly is hugh and if you watch what you eat the baby will take off your weight actually! Well that is what mine has done so far. Just don't worry and be ahppy the baby is healthy it will be fine!
