Cell phones and pregnancy

Hi ladies! Just wondering if you use your cell phone pretty often and if you consider it safe while being prego.  My husband and I only have cell phones so everyone calls us on them and we both use them alot.  This month I used 2,400 minutes!!  That's the most I've ever used, I average around 1,500 a month...don't know why it was so high this month...anyway, do you think this is fine?  My doc said she doesn't know of any problems associated with cell phones and being pregnant.  Thanks!

Thanks for the replies...that was my concern, the radiation from the phone, but I've heard it is a tiny amount and I am not on the phone all hours of the day, but I do average about an hour a day according to my bill.  I think I will definitely start cutting back though because I don't know many people that use over 500 mins. a month.  Thanks again.

I have heard a lot of speculations about electronics and pregnancy. Honestly, I don't think there is a high risk or that would be on our list of "Things not to do" when we visit our Drs. Besides, many of people work around this stuff.

I have heard some stories with cell phones and that they aren't the greatest for you, but then again you also hear the arguments about microwaves and ultrasounds. Everyone has their opinions, but you have to do what you think is best. Personally, I use my cell phone all the time. We don't have a house phone, so everyone calls us on our cell phones. I don't think that they have proven that cell phones have negative effects on us or our babies. But that is something to research! =) Now, would I keep my cell phone near my belly, would I stand in front of the microwave while it's cooking, or would I have an ultrasound everyday? No, I wouldn't but, can you really avoid all those waves that are bad or harmful for you? I doubt it. It's everywhere!! lol.
