Changing Doctors.

Would you change doctors if your doctor told you everything was fine and then referred you to a specialist without saying anything? I was told that it had to do with weight loss, yet it was actually because my baby's umbilical cord only has one artery? I mean, I would like to know about what's going on with my own pregnancy! My doctor tells me absolutely nothing. I wasn't even told about my glucose test, which would have been nice to know about so I wouldn't have drank apple juice before AND during my appointment. I feel so out of the loop with my own business until I go to the specialist ):

It's not that I don't ask. I asked why I was being referred to a specialist for what was supposed to be a gender ultrasound and was told that it was because I was losing weight and hadn't gained anything at 25 weeks. Yet when I asked the specialist, he looked at me like I was crazy. As for tests, I knew the glucose one was coming, but I couldn't get a straight answer as to when. He's seriously in there long enough to measure my belly and listen with the doppler for a few seconds and then he's gone.
But I'm definitely gonna find out about the human resources department/person. I've had three visits at this office since moving to the area and I'm already fed up.

No that makes sense. Next time you go you should ask them if they have a human resources department or a designated employee who deals with patient concerns or complaints.

I go to a hospital, but they're separate offices from the hospital, if that makes any sense? It's just a matter of trying to find the "right" person to talk to about everything.

Do you go to a clinic or a hospital for care? You could report these issues to human resources.

Whenever I bring the issues up to anyone, they act like it isn't a big deal. The final straw was the receptionist making me wait 10 minutes to check in because she was "busy", yet you could see the reflection of facebook in her badge.

Yes. If it was me I would immediately change doctors. I have no shame in switching if I am unhappy with the services given to me. That's really upsetting he didn't tell you why you had to see a specialist right away.
