Charley Horse like Cramps?!

Omg!! I'm 23 weeks and on occasion while I'm sound asleep I get these charley horse like cramps on the back of my lower leg. It's happened on both my left and right leg. It is SO PAINFUL and the next day my leg feels sprained. I usually just stretch my leg out and rub it until it goes away but everytime it happens I just want to scream! Does or has anyone else ever experienced this? If so, what did you do to make it stop!?

I get those alot....what usually helps me is to eat a banana before bed or pickle juice. (always helped me in sports) lol. But when you do get them don't massage it try to relax and flex you're foot. :)

I used to get them so bad in both legs that I could hardly walk the next couple days, then finally it wouldn't hurt and I would get them again! I started eating a banana a day and it helped so much! I didn't get them for weeks & I stopped eating the bananas and what do you know, last night I had two! I hear it's very common in pregnancy.

Leg cramps are awful! I had one while i was sleeping a few days ago and i woke up and started crying and made my fiance get up and rub my calf, my calf still hurts. I knew leg cramps were common in pregnancy, so i stretch my calfs muscles, and try to stay hydrated but sometimes you just can not avoid them.

Drinking plenty of water, walking, and stretching your calves should help some. Also, try to eat more foods with potassium.

It is very common in pregnancy, unfortunately. I try to stay hydrated and active - seems to help keep their frequency low for me.
