Almost time and starting to freak out about c-section

I just realized how close i am to my 37 week mark for my c-section. (35+4) today. Starting to freak out and scared to death. I've had 4 natural births and now i have to do this. Question is how bad is it really? My sister in law tells me its nothing to worry about but i am a huge chicken when it comes to needles and i know i am going to freak out even more when that part comes. Any suggestions to make it not seem so bad??

I'm having my third C-Section on the 8th of June (maybe earlier the way he's growing!) And my first they.messed up.my spinal I think.honestly cause.I jerked. But then I had a hard recovery ONLY cause it was a bad.pregnancy with lots.of issues. My second.was easy peasy! Really fast recovery and I was.IP walking around the very next day after having the surgery (I made sure.I took advantage of those drugs the first 24 hours lol)

Lol seems like a good day to have a baby.
And don't worry, I'm scared too even though this isn't my first one!  New doctor, new hospital, I haven't even toured the maternity ward :-P  it's like going in blindfolded!

If I may, why are you havign a c-section with this one?

You will do just fine, just try to keep the big picture in focus.  This is just a means to an end - having that precious baby in your arms.  Try not to think about the the path that gets you there, just the destination.  You'll do just fine.  Some doctors will automatically give a mild sedative to keep you calm, you can always ask your doctor if that is something s/he will do

Ok DEEP breath :-)  I'm having my second c-section on the 25th.  My first one I was feeling exactly like you.  Scared to death.  But I will admit, it wasn't that bad (even though they messed up my spinal! But thats.what you get when a student anesthesiologist does it).
I was up walking around within about an hour of the surgery.  The only real pain I had was rolling in bed just because all of a sudden my innards had way more room lol.  I'll admit, I was surprised how easy the recovery was lol.
