what doctor should I choose?

I just moved to a new town and I have horrible sciatic nerve pain. I have been perscibed pain medication for the last 4 years because of it. My question is I dont know what doctor to choose in my new town that would be willing to give me my pain medication without causeing a fuss about it. I know some Dr's are more strict than others, so should I try a younger or older or I would I know?

It really depends on the individual doctor and there is no way to know without talking to them and finding out their philosophy. Sometimes if they can get your old medical records to show what tests were done and what treatments tried it makes things much easier.

There's no way to know unless you interview doctors. My doctor is an older gentleman whose been in this business for decades. He's really proactive and willing to prescribe medications for his patients.

I've seen both sides. So... all you can do is interview! I love ratemds.com because you can look up doctors in their specialty in your area and see how others rate them.
