Here is what the People's Pharmacy has to say:

"Low iron or zinc levels can sometimes trigger pica, a craving for non-food substances. Cornstarch and laundry starch are common objects of cravings, but we have also heard from readers who crave ice chips or even foods such as popcorn, carrots or radishes. Usually these cravings disappear once the deficiency is eliminated."

Check your iron first, anemia is very common during pregnancy.

Cornstarch has been a common craving for pregnant women through the centuries.

It's REALLY interesting to me,  that in this era where few young women even know what cornstarch is and have it in their kitchens,  the craving remains.

You must need something in it.

eating straight corn starch can lower your blood pressure dangerously low.  so not a good idea!

If my child's father wouldn't have thrown my cornstarch away I'd still eat it ...just thinking about it makes my mouth water for it ...I know it's crazy but I ate it even before I was pregnant... Since childhood ...I'm not sure if it's healthy for the baby or not but once he threw it away I haven't had it and he's usually in the grocery store with me ...lol so I can't even sneak and buy it lol

I recommend speaking to your OB about it. Most of the time, if yourr craving something like that, your body is lacking a certain nutrient. You may have PICA.

Be sure you are taking your vitamins.  It sounds like pica, and that can be caused by not having enough vitamins or minerals.
