(TMI)Odd Question!

Ok so the day I was reading some where bout saliva killing sperm... So I have an odd theory.

I can't orgasm from sex. So DF is very generous and gives me oral sex at least twice a week... Could this be the reason I'm not getting pregnant? He does it before we have sex and usually slobbers a lot.... Could that be killing the sperm?

Just a theory? What's your thoughts ladies???

If I let DF do that, I soak in the tub ahead of time. I feel better that way lol

:( I'm self concious too but at the same time I'm really greedy! He's the only guy who's ever done it to me. I can't orgasm any other way. We've tried and while I worry what he thinks. I'd be a real big b!tch if he didn't.... :) but it took a long time for me to let him.

Ewww lol.. but yea me and DB use spit for lube too sometimes and I got pregnant, so I dont think I believe in that either..

And its also good to know im not the only one self conscious down there, I dont let DB do it either.. makes me feel gross....

Yeah the wet feeling of drool does feel rather weird. I do enjoy it sometimes but I have to be really worked up and wanting it. Otherwise, no way. Especially because I eat more sour and salty things. If I eat sweets then I'll consider it. It's rare that I get oral. So don't be embarrassed. DF makes up for it. lol

It can happen by accident but it is just a precaution dr tell you to take. Here is a link from the mayo clinic. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/sex-during-pregnancy/HO00140. My DH doesn't either, but this was something I have read in what to expect when you are expecting.

Lol. NicMom I was so gonna say! I'd die! I went on a work Vaca... 4 days.... I was in hell! DF knows how I get after too long! Lol.... But ya he never blows in my vagina... Scary to think someone had to do that to find that out...

Anyway ladies thanx for the advice if I don't this month we will definitely be cutting it out for the week of O.... Fingers crossed I get a BFP this month and don't have to worry bout it!

I think  your better off with the orgasm and a little saliva. Since the big O is good for getting pregant and I'm sure it's not like he dumps a cup of saliva all the way back by your cervix ;-)

We never stopped doing oral last time ttc and didn't seem to have any problems. Also about the oral while pregnant... who the heck blows air into the vagina??? When I was like 7 months pregnant and too round and uncomfortable for sex that was all we did. Thank god for my dh because he was a lifesaver!

Do keep in mind ladies that oral sex in pregnancy can be potentially dangerous for baby and mother. If air is blown into the vagina it can cause an air bubble in the uterus which could kill baby, mother, or both. My DH and I personally don't do it while pregnant. So if you decide to just make sure your partner doesn't blow inside you. I think the reason saliva can kill some sperm is probably due to the acidic nature of saliva. Our vaginal canal and secretions and seminal fluids are more basic and sperm has to be in familiar conditions in order to survive. I hope this is helpful to all.

DH and I stopped performing oral during peak days...I did get pregnant after we stopped doing that a few cycles. I don't know if that's what made it finally happen, but I heard the saliva thing too and just wanted to decrease any negative chances! I wouldn't say to give it up all together - just during those peak times! :) Good luck!

i heard of it but do not believe the tail. saliva everyone uses for lube and get pregnant. i AM a prime example. ha.

Ik DF has used Saliva too but its just a small amount. Like a little spit. I'm talking like a ton!

wow that was a great post!>...i never heard about that, thats intresting,, we also use saliva as part of lubication but its just a lil i dont think that matters, but im not allowin him to do that to me anymore untill i finally get pg..lol...i rather enjoy the love making without the organsm and have a beautiful baby then a few minutes of some good oral..lol he can apprecaite my body after his lil soldiers completes their task..lol

Cnj tmi but good to know I'm not the only one who doesn't like him going down there. I don't like that wet feeling of drool all over an eww plus i need penetration for orgasm so oral doesn't do anything for me but feel like I need a shower. I'm glad I'm not the only one who isn't really into it I'm always embarrassed to say it (besides to my hubby)

I'm sure it does kill some sperm. Possibly not enough that you couldn't get pregnant though. I mean others have said they've gotten pregnant even while using saliva. If I allowed DF to give oral more often, I'm sure we could find that out BUT, like I said I'm too ticklish and self conscious in that department lol

i  get oral all the time and iv gtten pregnant but i have heard saliva can kill sperm but i dont know if thats just a wives tell.

I've heard it kills some, but immobilizes the others. I know personally that it didn't affect me getting pregnant, as saliva (spit) was more or less what we used for lubrication.

That's great info to know, my df loves to perform oral sex all the time even if we ate not going to have sex, but for some odd reason lately since using preseed I don't allow him to because of the preseed but he gets mad at me.. Smh


I wonder how sperm could be affected by saliva...

hmm, that is very interesting. I personally have only just thought about that recently. I don't get oral that often for the simple fact that I am way too ticklish and though I am a clean person I get super self conscious about that area. You are what you eat and I tend to eat more sour and salty things than I do sweets. It has changed the way my CM tasted. tmi lol.....

There have been many times where I needed to wet my vagina with saliva because we didn't use lube at the time. We got pregnant once before so I'm not sure.

I have heard that it kills sperm too. Hmmm idk though if it could be related. It's a good theory to go on. Maybe ask your OB?  Or maybe someone else knows. Sorry I don't know
