First, what does HSV2 stand for? Second, if it is an STD, you will probably have to have a c-section to avoid passing it to baby, outbreak or no! That is generally the rule. But the only way to know for SURE is to ask your doctor. I know that might be embarassing but if you want to protect your little one, they've got to know everything about your med. history. They'll help you through this.
The answer is NO you can`t if there isn`t an outbreak. If you have an outbreak 2-3 weeks before labor than the dr will decide for c-section.
Studies have show that the herpes simplex virus CAN be transmitted to another partner even without an outbreak BUT the changes of passing it on to your baby during birth are VERY small if you have not had a recent outbreak or a current one.
Yup! That herpes commercial that comes on TV for that prescription drug, I'm not sure what it's called. It plainly states it in the commercial that you don'thave to have an outbreak to spread herpes.
it's called valtrex...I've seen it enough times to have it memorized...it's been proven to help prevent the spread of Herpes. Not sure if it can be taken during pregnancy tho.
