DOXYCYCLINE TAKEN BEFORE I KNEW I WAS PREGNANT

Hi everyone,
I was wondering if any of you already mothers or mothers to be have been in a similar situation as me. I JUST found out I was pregnant yesterday and while I want to be excited I am worried because I was taking Doxycycline for a UTI that was diagnosed on Thursday. I stopped taking the medicine immediately after finding out I am pregnant, but I fear something may happen since I was on it for a few days. My Dr switched me to a medicine called Keflex for 10 days. I hate the thought of being on medication so early in the pregnancy even though I'm sure the Keflex is safe. Please let me know any input you have, thank you!!

Okay, so maybe it isn't too terrible that I took it? Aw I'm so sorry! I believe I am just 4 weeks! My first appointment isn't until August 14th so I still have a while to go until I find out anything or any questions that I want answered! I hope this pregnancy goes well for you!!

The dr who prescribed the doxy for me was a specialist (re) it was my second time taking doxy for the same reason. We mc with our first pregnancy on our 2nd round of ivf and are now 6.3 weeks with ivf #3 so god willing this is our first baby too! We have our first ultrasound Thursday.  How far along are you?

Thank you for replying! I took it for 5 days as well, and a total of 8 doses. The Dr said I will have to see a fertility specialist. This is my first pregnancy so I am just totally freaked out that something could potentially be wrong!

I took doxy that was prescribed by my dr for IVF. The last day of my medication was a day after my embryo transfer and I'm sure it was in my system longer than that since I took it for 5 days. What did your dr say about it? I would think it would be ok since my dr put me on it specifically for the ivf process. Congrats on your pregnancy
