Dealing with Postpartum Depression

I know that this may not be a decision for everybody but I dealt with PPD after my 1st child and needless to say it was difficult. I have been told and have also read that if you went thru either depression or PPD in the past you are susceptible to going thru it. I was concerned about this and started researching "placenta encapsulation" as a natural & alternative way to dealing with possible PPD instead of relying on the pharmaceutical companies for so-called relief. I recommend others to research this. Not only for PPD but also to promote lactation (milk supply), boosting energy and recovering from stress, helping with recovery time after baby, stimulating the immune system, and helping with anemia among other benefits. I am excited to try this and am looking forward to the results! Again I realize it may not be for everyone but this is not a new concept by any means, only in OUR society today. I just wanted to share this with others who are also looking for alternatives to common problems after birth..

Yup if you store the pills in the freezer they can be taken up til menopause. On average (depending on the size of course) I think it's between 200-300 pills. I found a specialist in my area that well come to your home after baby is born and do everything for you for $200. I read it can range between $150-$300 which isn't bad especially if they come all the way to you and do everything right there in your kitchen!

Really? Do you know how many you'd get about? Probably depends on the size of your placenta. How much does it cost?

My thoughts exactly, it can only benefit myself and baby besides that the pills can be used all the way up to menopause to help regulate hormones instead of all those estrogen type supplements they sell you over the counter or that hormone replacement therapy they try and get you to do to help with symptoms!

I think it's a great idea, it sounds like it has many benefits, I never personally did it but I know PPD and lactation can be stressful so why not try to help it?! Good luck with it, let us know how it works for you!!
