The problem with betas vs HPTs is the varying sensitivity. Many 'early' HPTs go down to 20 or 25 and other brands may not show positive until 100. The brand I took went down to 25 and I tested positive with a good visible line at only 10 days after ovulation. Plus your urine might not be as concentrated as your blood. Some women don't get a whole lot in the urine but get a high beta.
Got my first appointment ladies!!! April 23, I'll be about 7 weeks 2 days based off LMP. I'm hoping in the two weeks following I'll get my first ultrasound because I'll be on leave from Korea for a month before headed to Ft. Bragg NC.
I am due Dec. 2nd-ish. I miscarried and then got preggers right away before AF even showed up again. I did bleed after a few pos. HPT's but went and had blood work done and it went up substantially in 24 hours. Dr. said today it is a viable pregnancy and I haven't had anymore bleeding. I am so excited. My 4 year old son has asked for months when his little sister is coming. He even prays for it at night. I really hope it's a girl. Otherwise I told DH he gets to tell him. LOL. I am going in for an appt. April 15th. They said since I didn't have a AF they will probably set up an ultrasound and because I've had bleeding and a history if m/c.
Thank you!!!! we'll see. my fingers are crossed, but im trying my best not to get my hopes up. I mean i know when i ovulated bc i had EWCM that day. It was the 23rd. ..... maybe it is a little early.... im hopeing!
HPTs will make you crazy. Most won't detect HCG until you are at around 100, but many first initial betas come back at well under 100 (10 can mean you're pregnant). I took an HPT the day before I was due for my beta. It was negative. The next day my blood work came back at 130 HCG (4 weeks pregnant). So long story short... those things are very unreliable early on.
My u/s is on the 14th, so it looks like we both get news around the same time (that's fun)!
