Echogenic bowel and measuring smaller in third trimester??

Has anyone ever been diagnoised with an echogenic bowel and the baby measuring small only to have it turn out to be nothing? I'm 30/31 weeks and they just found the echogenic bowel today when they were doing a growth check because she is measuring two weeks behind. Up until the end of the second trimester she was measuring right on track like to the day. Now in the last month we've slipped behind. I'm being sent to a maternal/fetal medicine specialist, but not until the end of the month and the nurse from his office said I have two markers for downs and cystic fibrosis. I didn't have the quad screen done before 21 weeks so I can't even rule those out.

Any feedback would be great thanks ladies!

My son & daughter in law got the same diagnosis @ 9 weeks, & spent the rest of the pgncy terified, & praying their hearts out. The little guy was born 10 days ago & is 100% FINE. I just got back yesterday from visiting w/ them for 3 days.
I hope evreybody's ending is just as happy.

My last growth ultrasound was at my 20 week appointment and nothing was abnormal at that point. She was right on for growth and had no intestinal problems. Because my fundal height started falling behind around 26 weeks they ordered another growth check for today at my 31 week appointment. That's when they found she had slipped back just over two weeks in growth and has an echogenic bowel.

We never even had the DS or Cystic test in the second trimester because we didn't want to know, but now that there is a problem I'm worried about her. I can't even refrence our family history with CF or DS because my Dad was adopted and so was my Husband. I can only look at my Mom's family and they don't have a history of either one.

It does make me feel better to know that this diagnosis has been thrown around by other doctors only for everything to work out fine. Ugh why do they have to freak us out so bad!?

My litttle girl was diagnosed with ecogenic bowel at my 17.5 week u/s . I passed the cystic fibrosis test but came out with higher odds of having DS on the blood test. I wont know anything untill she is born, because DH and I cant agree on doing the amnio. I recently had another u/s to check growth becasue I wasnt gaining weight (I was losing it) And my belly didnt seem to be growing.Well baby didnt have a problem gaining even if I had she measured in at 5 lbs 15 oz!! Over the 98th perecentile!! Im still floored about that, lol. During that u/s at 32 weeks I asked about the bowel and they told me after 25 weeks they dont check because it doesnt mean anything (I dont know what that means or not) Did the ecogenic bowel show up on any of your other u/s's?? Sorry I dont have any good answeres for you but it does seem that alot of woman are being diagnosed with this and then there is nothing wrong. They are just causing us needless worry. Although I dont know if its needless or not yet:(
